The University of Passo Fundo promotes projects of social intervention and transformative education

he University of Passo Fundo (UPF), a member of the International Network of the UNESCO Chair “The City that Educates and Transforms,” developed in 2025 several projects focused on social intervention and the promotion of community education, reinforcing its commitment to the cultural and social development of the municipality.

Among these initiatives, the following stand out: the XV Relendo Passo Fundo: A Path of Narratives, held on August 16, and the Relendo o Bairro in Partnership with Territories of Childhood, on September 29, both coordinated by Carla Portal Vasconcellos and the Extension Territory team. These activities provided spaces for reading, reflection, and the sharing of experiences with the community, strengthening the connection between the university and society. On December 7, the UPF Office of Extension, Culture and Community Affairs also promoted several actions aimed at cultural appreciation and social integration, consolidating the role of the institution as a transformative agent within the local context.

UPF’s participation in the International Network of the UNESCO Chair highlights the importance of initiatives that combine education, culture, and citizenship, demonstrating how academic knowledge.
