On March 23rd, at the Franciscan University (UFN) in Brazil, Gustavo Gonçalves Cougo successfully defended his master's dissertation titled "Invisible Urbanities: Itaimbé Park as an Educational Territory." This dissertation is part of the activities of the UNESCO Chair "The City that Educates and Transforms" and is linked to the institution's Master's in Teaching Humanities and Languages program.
The research, which investigates the educational dimensions of often-overlooked urban spaces, was supervised by Professor Dr. Marcio Tascheto and co-supervised by Professor Dr. Anelis Rolão Flôres. The examining board also included Professor Dr. Daiane Silveira Rossi (UFN) and Professor Dr. Ana Patricia Tavares de Almeida from the Universidade Aberta de Portugal (UAb).
This dissertation represents a significant contribution to the discussion about the city as a space for learning and social transformation. It aligns with the guiding principles of the UNESCO Chair in promoting inclusive, critical, and territorially situated education.
Congratulations, Gustavo, on this important achievement!
