The E-book “Portugal and the UNESCO Chairs” Is Now Available!

The e-book “Portugal and the UNESCO Chairs: Voices for the Future in an Interdisciplinary Mosaic of Knowledge” has been published and is now available for consultation. It is edited by Isabel Baltazar, Coordinator of the UNESCO Chair “The Educating and Transformative City”, led by ISEC Lisboa; Tânia Carraquico, President of ISEC Lisboa; and Ana Paula Oliveira, Director-General of Research and Development, Innovation and Sustainability (DGID) at ISEC Lisboa.

This publication stems from the need to explore, document and raise the profile of the work carried out by UNESCO Chairs in Portugal, bringing together their histories, projects, research areas and experiences. It aims to foster greater awareness of the work undertaken by these entities, strengthen links between institutions and highlight the diversity of their contributions to science, education and culture.

In a context shaped by increasingly complex global challenges, the e-book also seeks to demonstrate the importance of cooperation across different fields of knowledge, institutions and communities. Through the diversity of perspectives brought together, the publication reflects on the role of research, education and culture in shaping a fairer, more peaceful and sustainable future.

This e-book represents a step forward in strengthening mutual understanding among UNESCO Chairs in Portugal. It also aims to encourage joint projects and bring their work closer to society.
