In a global scenario where crises are becoming more frequent and disruptive, crisis communication is no longer a merely reactive tool but has become a central pillar of tourist destination management. This presentation focuses on crisis communication management in Lisbon during the pandemic, analysing how building narratives of trust and transparency in information were decisive in mitigating the effects of the sector's paralysis. The study examines the role of institutional communication in safeguarding reputation and strengthening relationships with residents and visitors, highlighting its inherent transformative dimension. Faced with the uncertainties of the Anthropocene, how can Lisbon's experience inspire new strategies that transform and educate urban tourist destinations for tomorrow's crises?
