The UNESCO Chair "The City that Educates and Transforms" reaffirmed its commitment to promoting knowledge exchange and international dialogue on sustainability by endorsing the first edition of the International Seminar "Just Ecological Transition: Challenges and Perspectives through the Lens of Law(s)", held on 28 and 29 May at Mackenzie Presbyterian University, São Paulo, Brazil.

Organised by the Graduate Programme in Law (Stricto Sensu) of Mackenzie Presbyterian University (PPGDPE/UPM), the seminar was held under the auspices of the UNESCO Chair, particularly through its "Ecological Transition and Environmental Sustainability" thematic axis, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in addressing the challenges of ecological transition and advancing more sustainable societies.

The seminar brought together researchers, academics and experts from several countries to discuss the legal, social, economic and environmental dimensions of a just ecological transition. Key topics included the bioeconomy, agri-food systems, energy transition, and the legal frameworks required to foster more sustainable and inclusive development models.

The event also provided a valuable platform for the presentation of scientific research and the exchange of knowledge and perspectives among the international academic community.
