ISEC Lisboa promotes Creative Gathering dedicated to Education and Sustainability

ISEC Lisboa hosted the Creative Gathering at the Hélder Pita Auditorium in May, an initiative promoted within the framework of the UNESCO Chair – The City that Educates and Transforms.

The event brought together first-year students from the Bachelor's Degree in Basic Education and the Higher Professional Technical Course (CTeSP) in Child Support, who presented posters developed in the Geography course on the United Nations and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The opening session featured a presentation by Isabel Baltazar, Coordinator of the UNESCO Chair The City that Educates and Transforms. This was followed by contributions from Rui Fonseca, Director of the School of Education and Human Development; Paulo Gil Martins, Director of the School of Management, Engineering and Aeronautics; and Ana Paula Oliveira, Director-General of R&D, Innovation and Sustainability at ISEC Lisboa, who also served on the evaluation jury.

Also taking part were Delfina Figueiredo, representing the United Nations University, and Daniel Teixeira, coordinator of the Size of the World Project at Duarte Lopes Basic School, enriching the discussion on the role of education in building more aware and inclusive communities.

The initiative encouraged reflection on education, sustainability, global citizenship, and the role of educating cities, while fostering creativity and active student participation.

The jury recognized the projects that stood out for their creativity, relevance, and educational impact. Three prizes were awarded and presented by the Director-General of R&D, Innovation and Sustainability, Dr. Ana Paula Oliveira.

First place was awarded to students Francisca Sousa, Mariana Pereira, Melissa Almeida, and Susana Pires, from the first year of the CTeSP in Child Support.

The Creative Gathering promoted the sharing and recognition of students’ work, reinforcing ISEC Lisboa’s commitment to education for sustainability and global citizenship.
