Dictionary “Women and European Unity” Launched During the Celebrations of the 40th Anniversary of Portugal’s Accession to the European Union

To mark International Women’s Day, Escola Severim de Faria hosted, on 12 March, an initiative under the European Parliament Ambassador Schools (EPAS) programme, commemorating the 40th anniversary of Portugal’s accession to the European Union and highlighting the contribution of women throughout this period.

The event was attended by Professor Isabel Baltazar, Coordinator of the UNESCO Chair “The City that Educates and Transforms” and National Coordinator of the EPAS programme in Portugal, who presented the Dictionary “Women and European Unity.”

Additionally, as part of the event, an exhibition was on display illustrating the role of women as key agents in promoting the values of European citizenship.

The EPAS programme enables students to develop skills and knowledge in the field of democratic literacy, with the aim of fostering the communication of European values with autonomy and intercultural awareness.
