UPF Hosts the 1st Environmental Seminar and Rector Bernadete Dalmolin Is Honored by the Military Brigade

The University of Passo Fundo (UPF) hosted, on Tuesday afternoon (May 6), the 1st Environmental Seminar of the 3rd Environmental Battalion of the Military Brigade (3rd BABM), an event that brought together authorities and specialists to discuss and promote key actions for environmental preservation in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. On this special occasion, UPF’s Rector, Professor Dr. Bernadete Dalmolin, was honored with a medal in recognition of her significant contributions to the community.

The seminar, jointly organized by the 3rd BABM and UPF, highlighted the institution’s strong connection with environmental issues and its role as a center for relevant regional debates. In addition to addressing topics such as the actions of the Environmental Command of the Military Brigade, the role of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the carbon market, sustainability, and the climate crisis, the program featured the participation of Colonels Rodrigo Gonçalves dos Santos and Marco Antônio dos Santos Morais, Public Prosecutor Paulo da Silva Cirne, and the Secretary of the Environment of Passo Fundo, Diorges Oliveira.

The event also included a tribute to Rector Bernadete Dalmolin, who received a medal in recognition of her dedication and contribution to community development, as well as a presentation by students from EEEF Jerônimo Coelho. The honor bestowed upon Professor Bernadete reinforces the University’s engagement with the social and environmental demands of the region.
