UNESCO Chair “The City that Educates and Transforms” Highlighted at the IV International Seminar “Youth: Health, Education and Society”
On January 27, Ana Patrícia Almeida participated online in the IV International Seminar “Youth: Health, Education and Society,” organized by the Center for Studies of the Open University (CEG-UAb). A faculty member at the Open University and Member of the International Network of the UNESCO Chair “The City that Educates and Transforms”, she delivered a presentation entitled “Youth and Territory – Contributions of the UNESCO Chair 'The City that Educates and Transforms'", exploring the relationship between young people and urban spaces, and highlighting projects and educational practices that foster social transformation through youth engagement.
The seminar also featured contributions from Cleidilene Ramos Magalhães and Paula Elisa Louzada (UFCSPA – Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre), Samantha Mallmann Lessa (UFRGS – Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul), with Cristina Pereira Vieira (UAb) serving as moderator. The presentations addressed key topics related to the promotion of youth health, education, and well-being in contemporary social contexts, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches and the need to integrate educational and health perspectives in understanding youth experiences. The event provided an important space for dialogue and knowledge exchange among researchers and professionals, reinforcing the relevance of policies, practices, and research projects capable of addressing emerging challenges affecting young people.
