UNESCO Chair Present at 100th Anniversary Celebrations of the Art Deco Movement

As part of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the Art Deco movement, promoted by the Coletivo Memória Ativa in Santa Maria, Brazil, a series of activities took place between April 22nd and 26th, including workshops and professional experiences.

On April 26th, the activities were carried out under the umbrella of the UNESCO Chair "The City that Educates and Transforms," of which ISEC Lisboa is a founding member. The activities culminated in cultural and educational initiatives in public spaces, reinforcing the Chair's mission: to promote more just, inclusive, and participatory territories through heritage appreciation and community involvement.

Among the day's highlights was the "Paths through Architecture / Mapping Memories" route, a walk through emblematic Art Deco architectural sites in Santa Maria, integrating heritage, art, and local culture.

ISEC Lisboa's participation reinforces its commitment to the principles of the UNESCO Chair, promoting educational and cultural practices that recognize and value urban heritage as a tool for social transformation.
