UNESCO Chair “The City that Educates and Transforms” stands out at the 13th National Education Symposium
From September 17 to 19, the 13th National Education Symposium (SINCOL) was held at the Frederico Westphalen campus of the Integrated Regional University of Alto Uruguay and the Missions (URI). With the theme “Basic and Higher Education: Challenges and Commitments for Democratic Life”, the event addressed the challenges of education for democratic life, focusing on the relationship between social development, technologies and education.
The UNITWIN Network, through the UNESCO Chair “The City that Educates and Transforms”, led the Thematic Axis “Cities that Educate and Transform”. This axis, made up of two Working Groups (WGs), debated the role of cities as formative spaces that promote education and citizenship, addressing issues such as multiculturalism, social justice and growing inequalities.
The symposium stood out as a space for dialogue between academics, educators and the community, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between different areas of knowledge and reaffirming the UNESCO Chair's commitment to building more educative and inclusive cities.
