Professor Rui Fonseca presented a paper at the "Cities that Educate, Transform" Conference in Brazil

The UNESCO Chair Delegates Assembly took place between November 20 and 24, 2023, at Mackenzie University in São Paulo, Brazil. During this assembly, the program included the Conference "Cities that Educate, Transform", in what was the First Education Congress, following the launch of the Chair in Lisbon in February 2023.

The 1st Education Congress took place at the Mackenzie Historical and Cultural Center (CHCM) Auditorium in São Paulo, Brazil, and its central theme was "Cities that Educate and Transform". Representing ISEC Lisboa through the UNESCO Chair - The City that Educates and Transforms, was the Director of the School of Education and Human Development, Professor Rui Fonseca, who presented a paper titled "Urban Territory and Social Stigma" at the conference on November 23, 2023.

This initiative was promoted by the Postgraduate Program in Education, Art and History of Culture, the CHCM, of Mackenzie Presbyterian University (UPM), and by the UNESCO Chair, which seeks to foster interest in the area in the light of guiding themes. The event also witnessed the launch of the UNESCO Chair - The City that Educates and Transforms at UPM.

The UNESCO Chair is part of the International Cooperation Program International Network for the City that Educates and Transforms (RICET), led by ISEC Lisboa. The event was attended by national and international students, graduates and guest professors.
