Creative Reflections on the City that Educates and Transforms

With the mission of involving the academic community in reflecting on and transforming the city, and as part of the UNESCO Chair "The City that Educates and Transforms", ISEC Lisboa is launching a challenge entitled "Creative Reflections on the City that Educates and Transforms". This initiative encourages creative expression in various forms, including photography, graphic and multimedia products, drawings, texts, reports, critical reviews, installations, among other approaches.

Open to the entire academic community (students, faculty and staff), the challenge promotes creativity as a tool for analysis and change, stimulating new perspectives on the role of the city in education and social transformation.

Photo Contest:

This competition aims to collect inspiring images that reflect the theme "The City that Educates and Transforms". Photographs should capture elements of everyday life that contribute to a more inclusive, sustainable and educational city. They can be taken during a walk in Quinta das Conchas or in other places that highlight best practices or urban challenges.

Photographic entries must be sent by April 24, 2025, to the contacts listed below.

Under the motto "Live the City! Educating well is transforming the world", this initiative encourages participants to develop innovative and creative projects that contribute to a more sustainable society - the work can be presented in the following formats: graphic or multimedia products, drawings, texts, reports, critical reviews, installations, among other approaches.

Collaborative Panels and Exhibition:

Works can be placed on the collaborative panels provided for this purpose at the Library entrance until May 15, 2025.The exhibition will be open until May 31, 2025, inclusive.

We are counting on your creativity and involvement to bring this initiative to life!

The initiative will conclude with a panel discussion on May 27 at ISEC Lisboa’s library. The panel will be made up of the three directors of the schools that make up ISEC Lisboa, Engineer Paulo Gil Martins, Professor Manuela Maia, and Professor Rui Fonseca.
