Education Congress - Cities that educate, transform themselves

The 1st Education Congress will take place between November 22 and 24 at the Mackenzie Historical and Cultural Center (CHCM) Auditorium in São Paulo, Brazil, with the central theme being "Cities that Educate and Transform". Representing ISEC Lisboa through the UNESCO Chair - The City that Educates and Transforms, will be the Director of the School of Education and Human Development, Professor Rui Fonseca. The congress is promoted by the Postgraduate Program in Education, Art and History of Culture, the CHCM, of Mackenzie Presbyterian University (UPM), and the UNESCO Chair, which seeks to foster interest in the field in the light of guiding themes. The event will see the inauguration of the UNESCO Chair - The City that Educates and Transforms at UPM, which was officially launched on February 28, 2023, in Lisbon.

The UNESCO Chair is part of the International Cooperation Program Network for Cities that Educate and Transform (RICET). Led by ISEC Lisboa, the network includes 12 higher education institutions from Portugal, Brazil and Guinea-Bissau, and has UPM among its founding members.

The event will be attended by national and international students, graduates and guest lecturers. The event is aimed at the internal public and the general community and is free of charge, but registration is required.
