10th Edition of the Seminar “Cities of the 21st Century” Discusses the Theme “Time in the City”
The Architecture and Urbanism program and VivA!Emau – the Model Office of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Passo Fundo (UPF) will hold, from October 8 to 10, the 10th edition of the seminar “Cities of the 21st Century.” The event, which has established itself as an important space for interdisciplinary dialogue on urban issues, will be held online and will bring together students, professors, researchers, and extension practitioners from different fields of knowledge.
With the theme “Time in the City,” the seminar proposes reflections on the multiple temporal dimensions that permeate urban life, from the construction of spaces to the social and cultural rhythms that shape contemporary cities.
As in previous editions, the program will include presentations of undergraduate and graduate research developed in the fields of Architecture and Urbanism, Education, Law, Literature, Engineering, among others, broadening perspectives on the role of cities and their transformations.
The opening lecture will be delivered by Professor Dr. Paulo Edison Belo Reyes, architect and urban planner, professor at the Faculty of Architecture and the Graduate Program in Urban and Regional Planning (PROPUR) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). The lecture, entitled “Designing the Landscape,” will take place on Wednesday evening at 7:20 p.m., marking the beginning of the event.
The seminar continues on Thursday (afternoon and evening) and Friday (afternoon). No prior registration is required; a form for attendance registration will be made available during the event.
Certificates will be issued to participants who present papers, attend the opening lecture, or participate in at least 75% of the program (three out of four sessions).
All activities will take place via the Google Meet platform, in the room: meet.google.com/ioh-pjqv-qva.
The invitation is open to the entire academic community. Join us and take part in discussions about cities in their different aspects, perspectives, and interdependencies.
